Sure, I don't see a problem with that at all. As a course teaches, detonation
is always nearby (1 inch on the red knob) but it's not always destructive.
I guess you could say there's detonation and then there's DETONATION.
So the explanation of light/ medium /heavy need to be quantified with actual
temperatures/pressures. The melting point / time of exposure the piston
gets
would determine whether or not it was eroded.

detonation, 3-4 hours of medium detonation and about 30 minutes of
heavy detonation that looked absolutely pristine and showed no signs
whatsoever of any damage? How does that reconcile with the above?
