I ran into the same excessive flap actuator throw problem. Vern at =
Lancair said that earlier versions of the actuator were superceded by =
units with a shorter throw. He sent me one of the later units. It was =
the same as the one already installed. Vern also said that they had =
supplied spacers with the earlier versions of the actuator which were to =
be installed inside the cylinder and thus limit the throw internally.
He didn't have any in stock so I made one out of an aileron push tube =
rod end spacer. The spacer fits like it was made for that purpose. =
With the spacer cut down to about 3/16" and installed in the cylinder =
the piston throw is perfect.
I'm not an engineer, so anyone who wishes to use this solution should =
proceed accordingly.
