Yes, use solder, heatshrink and a little copper foil tape.

Why would you want to install a connector that you only "connect" once in the planned life of the aircraft? You will likely already be using solder, heatshrink and copper tape to terminate the connector so why would you not want to cut the number of solder joints in half and eliminate the cost, weight and failure opportunities of a connector?
