I'm sitting in Geogre's study right now after finishing the first APS session of the weekend. We read that message and guess what? He smiled and looked wobbly-kneed all at the same time! <VBG>

Walter, I'm sitting here smiling.....That is pretty close to WOT and LOP. <g> When I approached George in regards to running 42" Hg boost on my 8.5 CR TSIO550 he got all "wobbly kneed" and ask....Why on earth would you want to do THAT. <g> I love those mental exercises that make you Think and Smile at the same time. All I've accomplished is so far is 300 HP, LOP on a 300 Hp engine. As I said, it would take a lot of mass air flow! <g>

Walter said: "One would have to have a pretty high MP and rpm to get the mass airflow adequate to be far enough LOP for 21 gph to be a usable mixture." Walter, this would be approximately 320 HP. Is this pushing the limit of high speed cruise LOP to far? Craig Berland |
