I think you should rebuild it. I would call Lancair and find out how to take this apart without damaging the parts. I would also suggest that you join the ES group at:

 Dear fellow builders
 I am building an ES and have got into a problem. I have closed the vertical
 stabilizer and found out afterwards the L.E. was not on the centerline.
 Diff. on the worst is allmost 3/4 inch.  I have sendt a mail to Lancair
 tech, but have no response. I would solve the problem by filling up with
 micro and lay 1 BID on top. How does that sound?
