As a follow up to my long ago post on these drains I wanted to say that I have it installed and it looks like I have almost 1 in. clearance to the retracted nose gear. It looks fine and the cap has an O ring inside that seals the drain when capped, so it doesn't rely on the check valve to keep it from driping. I haven't used the drain plug insert yet but tried it before installation and it shouldn't be near the problem that old plug was. I now think this is a must to have and wish I had it long ago.
