Interesting idea. If you mount the seal on the canopy how do you plan to handle the hose from the air pump to the seal? It's really simple when the seal is mounted on the fuselage. Once it's in place everything is fixed, nothing moves. With the seal on the canopy the hose will need to move to handle the canopy movement. And based on a friend's recent experience the junction of the hose connection to the seal can be kind of fragile. I've been in and out of my friend's plane many times and have done quite a bit of work behind the panel. So far the fuselage mounted seal has not been an issue.

On the Legacy, the plans call for the inflatable canopy seal to be mounted on the fuselage canopy rails. If the seal were mounted on the canopy itself, it would be out of the way, less likely to be damaged getting in and out or when working behind the panel. Is there any reason why this shouldn't be done; anyone with any experience with it? Appreciate your thoughts.
