“Put gear switch in the down position before landing.  (except down under where the switch goes in the up position to land?)”

 

In the land down under, gear selectors are placed in the horizontal plane.

Left is DOWN – Right is UP.

Hang on – no I think Right is DOWN – Left is UP.

Wait  minute. I better have a look.

 

I’m back (puff puff) Actually you are right Gary.

Down is UP and Up is DOWN!

 

It is a bit like the magnetic Compass.

As you pass the equator, you have to re-swing the standby compass to account for the Southern hemisphere.

 

Well, I’m off to fly.

Wings on – jump off the balcony – see – I’m flying cos’ I’m in the Southern Hemisphere!
