the gaskets are likely fine, but the hex screws that
hold the keyway should be lock tighten so they don't

jack the tire off the ground
remove the air valve insert at the top of the strut
push the tire up to collapse the strut.
attach a hose from the valve and dip into your oil
drop the tire sucking oil into the strut
run the strut up and down to remove all air.
push the tire to the top, and re insert valve
gross out the plane and then fill the struts to desired
  ride height.
