Referring back to LNN Issue 33, p 427, stall strips are recommended by Martin Hollmann 16 inches long, starting 24 inches outboard. After e-mail between Charlie Kohler/Jim Frantz, I learned that Martin had recalculated that strips might be better if 18 inches long still located at 24 inches outboard.
Using a 50:50 micro/flox, stall strips were made as follows:
Cut a wooden mold with 1/2 inch wide, 1/4 inch deep triangular section 18 inches long.
Cover with plastic tape for release.
Make up epoxy/micro/flox and fill mold firmly to remove voids/bubbles.
Sand leading edge with 40 grit at appropriate distance (24 inches outboard, 18 inches long) in the center of the leading edge. (According to Martin Hollmann, the strips should be a little (.18 inch) below the leading edge at the stagnation point.)
Squeeze the mold against the leading edge, centering it as closely as possible, attach to wing with duct tape as shown.
Excess epoxy/micro/flox should be removed at top, bottom and ends of mold to minimize sanding later.
Allow 24 hours cure time before mold is popped off.
Lightly sand to produce final finish.
It may be advisable to make the stall strips removable in case small adjustments in their exact location have to be made after test flying. To make them removable, simply put release tape on the leading edge under the strips.
