Spend thou$and$ on avionics then scrimp and save on cable. When only the best will do, try Andrew FSJ1-50A solid outer conductor 50 ohm, 1/4" (0.29") cable. 2.21 dB/100' @ 150MHz (com, VOR), 7.41 dB/100' @ 1.5 GHz. (GPS) Min. bend radius - 1", 0.045lb/ft, 0.72oz/ft. No leakage in or out of the shield to add nulls to the antenna pattern. (>300dB isolation). Back in '97 it was $1.66/ft. The BNC male connector was the F1PBM  @ $12.50. A couple of dB loss can make all the difference between understandable or no comm when the s**t hits the fan!
