Thanks to the great advise of the LML, I flew into North Las Vegas last week on Saturday and stayed until Friday. Fuel was $3.29 at the self-serve and the charge was only $5.00 per night for parking, the free shuttle will deliver you anywhere on the strip or downtown. They also offer rental cars. They have a pilot lounge and briefing room complete with computers. The controllers are used to "out of towners" I guess, because they are very helpful with directions and made landing and taking off seem like cake. I spotted two Glasair IIIs on the ramp, one of them is famous for his Reno racing. There was another Lancair 320 there; I had met its owner when he was flying a homebuilt jet at Oshkosh and then again at the Lancair fly-in.
