Listers,
Up here in Minnesota where it can get cold at times, in the winter it is
sometimes a challenge to get the oil temp up enough for condensate removal.
I modified the oil cooler door for a complete seal and still see temps in
the 140 range when it is -25C at altitude.
Twice this year I had the oil cooler congeal when it was -45C at altitude
with partial oil pressure loss (once where the prop governor quit working),
so basing a heater on the oil cooler discharge wont help when you need it
the most. I tried that as a fix for the lousy factory heat system on my non
pressurized IV, but gave up once the oil temp issues were noted.
