Matt my buddy Chuck Moon N49CM had his engine built (modified ) at Lycon He
fought with excess oil consumption and also could not get the rings to seat.
They found a tiny leak in the induction system as it went through the oil
sump. He was sucking oil in from the sump. Lycon replaced the sump and his
oil consumption went to almost nothing.
Might be a place to look.
