True, the software is proprietary however, the EDM700 can be user programmed
to output (on the download connector) the data in ascii by not recording it
internally.
I am planning to use one to telemeter data from a UAV engine to the ground for
real time monitoring of the engine parameters.
Fuel flow is important for flight duration monitoring due to the different
power settings required for some missions. This will be a first flight for
this UAV.
As I understand it, they have also reverted back to the csv conversion of
their downloaded recorded data. They had so many complaints about users
having to buy the conversion software that they have made it downloadable for
free from their website.
