The fiberglass piano hinge can be bonded into the cowl with Hysol and a couple rivets or screws at either end (only if you're nervous about the bond strength). Carbinge (graphite piano hinge) is available also - costs more - weighs less. Very nice application. That airplane was built by Gene and Mike McBrayer and is a work of art.
