I am not a lawyer nor able to guess what FAA legal would "go after" but I
personally would not worry about this. My first worry would be to keep it
running
and prevent the off airport event. Do NOT ignore warning signs. Plenty of
fuel/oil. Make fuel press/flow a primary scan instrument w/oil press/temp.
Next- keep every aspect of the flight legal. AROW? Pilot
Currency-weather-Condition Inspections etc etc .
If really in doubt- pose the question in writing to the Airworthiness
Manager at the Local FSDO. Then you have a document-- for whatever thats
worth. At least you can send it to the EAA and AOPA legal team.
