This may be a basic question for  the electrical gurus out there this is my
first "problem" so bear with me. I have 150 hrs on my ES with a Cont.
IO-360-ES w/ concord R.G.12 volt batt. and the factory recommended NAPA brand
VR-154 voltage regulator (i.e., solid state and built and looks like a tank).
While in flight recently got a low voltage alert on the VM-1000 (specifically
12.8 volts). The ammeter (with the sensor on the alt. out wire) was
indicating a load that would increase appropriately
(i.e., with activation of pitot heat, lights, etc. the indicated amperage
output increased proportionally). My first action was to recycle the master
(no affect). after 8 -10 minutes flying back home, I noted the voltage was
remaining constant (i.e., no batt drain) and no amperage changes. When on the
ground and engine off, the batt. voltage reads 12.2 volts and, after cooling
several hrs, restarting the engine, the voltage indicated 13.9 -14.0 volts
(which would usually read 14.3 -14.4 volts). I'm thinking the regulator is
starting to crap out, but am I missing something else ?

 Thanks in advance,
 Sam
