I have constructed one flap and am finishing the other.  On one of them, I
installed 4 stiffening ribs at the leading edge spaced roughly equally.  I'm
wondering if this is going to lead to warping down the road because the curved
portion of the leading edge might deform in the areas between the ribs.  I
recently saw a Lancair that showed evidence of this.  Am I better off with no
ribs at all, provided the curved surface is stiff enough not to catch on the
wing trailing edge?

[How about installing false spars made from some 1" high strips of
pre-preg between the ribs?  After laying them up with 2-BID each side that
would probably provide the additional stiffness you're looking for at
a minimal weight penalty.  ???    <Marv>     ]
