I had a similar experience with my Legacy
-- everything seemed OK, but nothing happened when I hit the gear
switch. After some (embarassingly long) period of head-scratching, I
realized that when the plane is up on jacks, you have to short across the squat
switch in order for the gear to be activated. Doh! One of those
times you're glad nobody else is around.
