I would like to hear from the group about reliability, usability, factory support, etc" Monday Evening 11/21/05 Adam, I don't have any experience with the OP units yet - I'm in the process of building my panel and mounting the units. We bought our units over a year ago and were impressed with Dexter and Mark. They seemed to be very knowledgeable and understand things from the pilot's perspective. I guess the true test will be when we begin start-up, which will be close to this time next year. Dexter sent the hardware and has intentionally kept the software until we begin the start-up. I think Rick Schrameck was one of the first people to be flying the OP units. He had the units in his Legacy @ Sun-N-Fun 2004 (might have been 2003). He had the 8-1/2" units. I'm installing the larger units. I have e-mailed Rick a couple of times and asked how his units were doing, but have not had any response (busy with Epic I guess). Dexter did tell me that Rick had made several suggestions on improvements that had been implemented. In the November issue of American Bonanza Magazine, there is an article written by Scott DeLuise from Denver, Colorado about his single engine turboprop Baron. Check out the ABS article @ www.bonanza.org "My Hot Rod In The Air". With those kind of mods, the Baron is "Experimental" and has the Op units mounted in the panel. You might contact the builder of this Baron, Wendell Hall, and ask him what led him to select OP. Would be interesting to hear what he has to say. Sorry I don't have more to offer, but time will tell. I feel good about our choice and am looking forward to the day when we "fire it up". Regards, Ed smith Chesapeake, VA
