My fix: ALWAYS start the engine on the left tank, and during taxi on the way to run-up switch to the right tank. That way both lines from the tank are "locked and loaded" before takeoff. Have never had any further instance of loss of fuel flow to the engine in flight in the 8 years since instituting the procedure.
