Torque drops anywhere after about 2500 RPM. That is the same on the Lycoming TIO-540J2BD. Lycoming did a pretty good job on that cam. This morning, I talked to another prominent engine builder. He confessed that about 10 years ago, he spend a LOT of money trying to design a better cam for the Lycoming engines - - only to discover that Lycoming had done a nice job of that, in the first instance.
