Because of the engines turbocharger, it was supposed to have more HP than the IO-320 above 5,000 ft. IO-320 = 80% x 160 = 128 HP at about 5,000 ft. IO-320 = 67% x 160 = 107 HP at about 10,000 ft. GTIO-Thielert = 135 hp till about 12,000 ft. And the HP differential becomes even greater at higher altitudes.
