 Don,

I have no oil on the belly of my ES.  Sometimes I get a little grime
probably from the cylinder drains after priming and the exhaust has oil
entrained in it as well.  Instead of an air/oil separator, I installed
a catch can.  One source is:

Do a search for "Catch can" and you'll find several variations.

I had to insert a piece of fuel cell foam in the filter on top of the
can to condense the oil better.  Initially, I had some oil exiting the
filter.  It's always been clean for the last 50 hours.  Now have 60 on
 the airframe.

Could somebody tell me what a normal oil slick on the belly of my ES
should look like? I have 65hrs on it.I usually have a slick from
drain hole to the rudder that needs to be wiped off at the end of a
2.5 hr trip.
