I received a quote from Falcon (EAA) and they were $1,500 higher than the
quote from PikWest due to my NOT being IFR Certified. Falcon claimed I wasn't
comparing apples to oranges. Upon furnishing the PikWest quote to Falcon, Jim
told me he appreciated the info and he would take it back to the Falcon/EAA
group. I don't have his quote for me as a VFR ONLY pilot. He did however get
close with Falcon if I get my IFR ticket. Sorry for not having the VFR/Falcon
quote-but it was nearly $5,000.
Pik*West had the aircraft insured at the time of purchase. The whole thing
took 3-4 days to put together. I do suggest getting the IFR ticket. It really
broadens the underwriter availability.
