I had the EXACT same problem with my '96 Suburban. The brakes would get a
real workout in the mountains. They'd overheat and I'd have to change
rotors out every 3-4 months to cure brake shudder... a VERY expensive fix.
The rotors were really too small for that beast of a vehicle.
I installed same-size cross-drilled rotors with ceramic pads and I never had
another problem. I'm sure that there is a machine shop around that can
drill them if the problem is chronic. There is a left and right pattern for
drilling. Now, the question is - Is this safe for our airplanes?...
