I also own a "very light" tube and fabric aircraft for which I only carry liability. The interesting part is that I am the only named insured on each aircraft, can only fly one at a time, and yet I pay liability for each one. I will be looking into my umbrella policy to make sure I would be additionally covered. Liability insurance is to cover me for the unknown-amount lawyer reward system. Not in motion insurance is for things I have no control over when I travel to other airports (theft, storm, goofy accident while parked, etc). In-flight self-insurance is for a fixed known loss - the value of the airplane at worst, some lesser amount for the parts I broke. Your airport rules about locks, no maintenance, etc. implies that you have placed your airplane in their care and their insurance, plus your hangar insurance, should cover damage to and theft from your airplane. Just don't leave your airplane at another airport. BTW, I have been unable to find coverage for landing atop an elephant roaming on the runway. Not a serious problem in my area since I just snap my fingers to keep them away and it seems to be working.
