   I use Simple Green.  = I wipe the=20 exhaust stains, then go over the area again with a wet wash mitt (water = only),=20 then dry.  Simple Green has been found to be corrosive to metal, = but I=20 don't have any on my belly, so I've had no problem using it for over the = past=20 two years.
