 Don and all...

I am based 5 miles north of Hollister and the marine layer often extends
inland to the Hollister area. When the layer extends inland it cant take until
10:00 AM to break up (there is a GPS approach). The Hollister AWOS phone
number is 1-831-724-8794.

So I have been tracking the marine layer all week and think it's best we meet in Hollister (3 oscar 7) and skip Half Moon Bay this time around. Half Moon Bay is such a great place to meet, but maybe we can do it in October or November when the fog stays off the coast.

Hollister is really, really airplane friendly. Gas is reasonable and Gavilan Aviation is a Lancair supporter for initial fly-offs. Jim Thomas and I plan to be there around 8:30 to grade overheads, passes and landings. Frequency is 123.00 and expect left traffic for 31. I'll take pictures of all and post. Oh yeah, they have a restaurant too.
