My experience has been that you arrive over Ripon at
2300' at 135 kts which is great, however, at Fisk the
controler was telling everyone to get down to 1800'
and slow it down. I recall flying over the tracks
past Fisk at 100 kts with about 50% flaps because that
is as slow as I wish to go. Fortuantely last year
(first time there in the Legacy) I did not have anyone
in front of me. It all worked out but imagine getting
behind a Cessna 140 with flaps down. What will you
do? Me, I will pass him!
Upon review of the Notams published for Oshkosh, page
7, Safety Alert: Aircraft at both altitudes and speeds
may be merging over Fisk at 1800' MSL for final
approach into Oshkosh.
