Scott is the one who told me of the
requirement. Said AIG was requiring it. I told him I had used the EAA
technical counselor courtesy inspection, but I had never heard of a factory
inspection program. He also stated that AIG wouldn’t insure it unless I
had used the Lancair builder’s assist program. He later dropped that “requirement”.
Sounded real fishy to me.

Inspections???
I have builder's risk insurance through Skysmith ( see
http://www.skysmith.com/ ) with AIG,
including terrorism loss (like a terrorist will steasl a kit in process!), and
there are no such inspection requirements. Sounds strange to me.
Call Scott at Skysmith: 800/743-1439.

Now AIG is stating that I must have inspections
performed by a Lancair factory representative at designated points in the
building process. These are separate from the EAA technical
