I am attempting to obtain builder’s risk insurance as required by the airport management where I have my hangar.  First, they were refusing to quote coverage unless I used the Lancair builder’s assist program.  Now AIG is stating that I must have inspections performed by a Lancair factory representative at designated points in the building process.  These are separate from the EAA technical inspector’s inspections.  This is the first I have heard of Lancair factory inspections.  Sounds like more insurance BS.  Does anyone know if there is any merit to this?
