I cut an appropriate sized hole in the screw top so it would slip onto the output tube, and secured it with a couple loops of safety wire thru the lid and over the top of the separator. Emptying it merely requires unscrewing the bottle while the lid stays attached to the separator. To Mike Easley; not sure I've ever heard that using an oil separator will overcome the tendency of some engines to "throw" the top couple quarts. It's purpose is to condense (recondense?) and capture the hot oil vapors (among other stuff) that the breather fitting is supposed to jettison. If you've got an engine that throws those top two quarts out the breather then I guess returning it to the engine is the way to go. Dan Schaefer
