Had a very thorough checklist. Completed a squawk list. Did a couple of static engine runs and then did several engine runs on the runway aborting at about 70 KIAS. Made a couple of engine adjustments. Looked over my builder records carefully, asked lots of questions. Then finally, he got in the aircraft and did the first flight. Very professional and very thorough. As a designee myself, I know that performance varies. Don't ask for the easiest designee that you think that will pass you or your aircraft but the one who is going to be the most critical. After all is said and done you are going to put yourself, your friends and family in it and fly away.
