I made two "L" shaped brackets out of 6 bid.  I did some measuring on the width of the fuselage where the brackets would be mounted.  I drilled and bolted the brackets to the instrument panel.  I floxed the brackets to the side of the fuselage with the instrument panel supported in its proper position.  After the epoxy cured I just unbolted the panel.  I did a couple bid over the brackets to reinforce the bond.

 

I did all of this when the instrument panel was just a fiberglass blank and only weighed a pound.  But I think it could be done with the finished panel, you just gotta be more careful!
