Legacy gear door cylinders
I have a question for the Legacy pilots that have theirs flying now. How many of you are getting along with the older design stock hydraulic cylinders that operate the inner gear doors working properly?? I understand from what I've read that the "Reno" design is stronger and works better (and now is standard equipment on new kits, from what I understand). But, when I asked Lancair, the answer I got was that the stock (old) cylinders will work fine if they are set up right. They also want $650 for the new design cylinder kit (with no credit for trade in on unused cylinders of the older design), and I can use that $$$ elsewhere (no problem, right?) if I don't have to replace the cylinders. I'm at the stage in construction where it would be very easy to replace them now, so I'd like to know how they (the old design) work. Please let me know if yours are working as designed. Thanks in advance…
