My DAR in Florida has built and flown 7 different aircraft and every
single one he tested for controlability at higher gross limits and so
certified them. His opinion was that most kits are certified at low
end MGWs that ensure great performance numbers for advertising. So
long as the aircraft had been tested to reasonable G loads he had no
problem adding to the MGW, and he never experienced a problem. But as
with all such modifications, "your results may vary".
