Here is some info I just took down at the airport... This = pertains to my elevator trim, and lack thereof at almost all flap = settings. Nose Down Trim - With the top skin of the elevator as the datum, the = trim tab motors to about 65 degrees up (for full nose down trim.) The = motor does not stop running when the tab reaches that position. It takes = 23 seconds to run from full nose down to neutral trim. (!) The tab is = just a bit flimsy against the rod, as it is at full extension. (In other = words, the slipstream can push it back towards trail, up to about 10 - = 15 degrees.) Nose Up Trim - With the bottom skin of the elevator as the datum, the = trim tab motors to about 35 degrees down for nose up trim. That takes 9 = seconds from neutral, and the motor or drive rod clicks at the end of = its travel. The motor does not stop at the end of its travel. The tab is = rather stiff against the slipstream as the rod is not extended as much. At either limit, I do not notice the rod end at the tab slipping in the = nut. The motor is mounted in the elevator behind a panel with small = cherry rivets, and is rather noisy/grindy... I wouldn't say it sounds = like it's coming apart, just noisy. I think it's obvious I need more nose up trim travel. That will entail = drilling out the rivets, opening the panel and checking/fooling with the = motor/servo. What are your thought, Lancair 360 experts!??? Thanks in advance!
