Gentlemen (and Ladies, too),
Normally, I would apologize for my previous abrupt answer (Safety Wiring
Main Spar Bolts), BUT; It is very hard to make an intelligent response to any
question without context. Generally, a question (and, hence, its' answer -
Duh!) is only relevant to the aircraft and conditions for which it is
posed............... Esoteric Eastern Philosophies related to mere
existence excepted, grasshopper!
Listen, there are about 20-30 active responders to issues raised on this
"board." There are about 200-400 lurkers, individuals who, because of many
unfathomable reasons, fail to ask any questions or are merely interested in
monitoring "Lancair" related information. Worse yet, there are
people with experience who are unwilling to add information to the mix.
That's fine, but terse, non-contextual questions/answers (unsigned, without
detail) are not particularly useful to anyone. Information, without
environmental details, provides little additional knowledge to us weirdos
seeking answers to the Universal Question: WHY?
In addition, people that are afraid of "flaming" cannot possibly be safe
pilots. I have never met a group of pilots that weren't completely type
"A" and impervious to any criticism. Flame suit on (Note: it's made
of asbestos - 'cause it works).
I cannot believe that any written words (other than a Subpoena) could ever
hurt one's psyche or cause one to consult a lawyer. Remember
these principles:
1. There are no stupid questions other than the one not asked
with context.
2. A question in time saves nine!
3. Free opinions are worth every penny paid for them.
4. Humor causes air cooled engines to fail at night or over water.
5. Don't worry, we all make mistakes (See: Harry Houdini).
