My painter, who normally paints boats, brushed on a
textured compound and then sprayed the finish coat over the top, followed by the
clear coat. I believe this is standard
practice on boats.
The finish is not as rough or abrasive as the
conventional wing walk but is still fine to walk on without slipping and you can
take a scrub brush to it when it is soiled. Looks better than wing walk
but not as good as nothing at all. I like the idea of having some loose
non skid material that you can lay on the wing prior to mounting your
steed.
