We went through a long convoluted period of time planning to install an IOF-550 (FADEC) on our ES. Is your engine a new one from the factory? If it is, then everything is there to go with the FADEC mod (sump, crankcase gear, et al.). You won't need much of a kit, if any. I believe that for the last year and a half, they have been doing this on all of their IO-550's.
The problem has been the software and more specifically the idle speed/performance of the IO-550. It has something to do with the mass of the prop, but that is not the only cause IMHO.
They have been slipping the release of that engine for about 2 years. This track record raised our doubts.But we ran out of time and switched to a straight IO-550N2B. Had to redesign the electrical system and the panel!! GAMI's PRISM is now back in the decision tree. If Continental's FADEC starts getting better field data (a decent installed base from which to get that data) it may be competetive.

BTW, yesterday I inquired with Teledyne Mattituck about a FADEC system.
The sales manager contacted the factory, and told me that they were
working on a price for an "EQ kit" that includes the modified sump, low
voltage harness, and magnetic pickups. He said he would get back to me
next week. They are still tweaking the ECU software for certification,
and expect to have something ready by January. It seems I have heard
this FADEC story before...
