I checked the current AIM, _http://www.faa.gov/ATpubs/AIM/Chap4/aim0403.html#4-3-11_ (http://www.faa.gov/ATpubs/AIM/Chap4/aim0403.html#4-3-11) . The current AIM says, "A LAHSO clearance does not preclude a rejected landing." and, "If a rejected landing becomes necessary after accepting a LAHSO clearance, the pilot should maintain safe separation from other aircraft or vehicles, and should promptly notify the controller." On the subject of whether experimental aircraft are prohibited. An older document says they are prohibited, something about "certificated landing distance". The current AIM doesn't mention experimental aircraft, but does prohibit student pilots, or anyone not familiar with the procedures, for conducting LAHSO operations. FAR Part 91 doesn't mention anything about LAHSO in the experimental aircraft operating limitations. I did notice when I researched the topic that there is a lot of old information on the subject floating around on the Internet. At one point in the LAHSO development there was a grouping of aircraft by landing distance. That was dropped. Now the "Pilot may accept such a clearance provided that the pilot-in-command determines that the aircraft can safely land and stop within the Available Landing Distance (ALD)." I also found a Powerpoint presentation that says "experimental aircraft are prohibited". So....... best I can tell...... you can do go-arounds and land experimental aircraft under LAHSO. Let the corrections begin! :-) Mike Easley Colorado Springs -------------------------------1101567065 Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
