I found that the original brakes were hard to modulate and would grab and sometimes drag after there were applied. The Groves allow smooth application and do not grab.
I try to use brakes as little as possible on landing. I let the plane slow down and get the weight back on the wheels before I try the brakes. The rudder can usally keep me straight until I slow down.
