Not a problem Craig,  as long as isn't excessive. Define excessive you say??
These expansion joints between each cyl header pipe must be able to move with cyl temp/pressure  
expansion/contractions. If they can't--They'll crack-or worst case break off in pieces.
Suggestion;; Have Exhaust system ceramic coated by "{JET-HOT 2000™ - Formulated for very high temperatures, this rugged matte-gray coating protects substrates up to 2,450°F, heat levels sometimes encountered in Rodding and Off-Road applications.}"     http://www.jet-hot.com/pages/headercoatings.html    It's relatively cheap.

Coat cowling in this area with Zetex (sp?) (get it from Fieldtech Avionics at Ft Worth).
Relocate plug/egt/cht wires.
 
Live with the rest.
