Out
of lurk mode. I have learned a lot over the years from the list but have not
seen this problem addressed. We have a IVP with a TSIO 550E1B with about 210
hours and have just noted exhaust leaks at all four slip joints. The left front
is quite noticeable with early discoloration of the ignition harness. All of
this was inspected less than 10 hr ago. I worry that another 10 hr and we would
have had a burned harness lead.
The
slip joints are apparently not fixable so the entire system is off to the exhaust
rebuild shop for replaced parts. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it
preventable? Is it a safety issue?
