Today the = L-1011 of Orbital started engines and taxiid away for pilot training and = each touch and go was visible and loud in our hangar. Sino Swerengen = finished setting up a telemetry trailer in the vacant dirt next to our = (huge) hangar. I asked a fellow 'whaasup' and he said the SW-30 is = arriving for flight test. Natch, they come from San Antiono for the = food and atmosphere (Ha-ha) that we are so (un)thrilled about. Thank = gawd I live in Tehachapi. =20 It is big fun to watch outside from work and go to the coffee shop for = lunch. One never knows who will be there. Burt and I are both Northrop = grads. Nice coattail to hang on, huh?=20 Not much can be learned about Scaled. At least not at my level. = Perhaps I don't pry enough... Their press announcements are pretty = special. I'm really glad I work here. I get a pass just for working on = the field. =20 Scaled will do well and win the X prize. It has been obvious for some = time they have the special people and the technology despite the recent = loss of two of their very important leaders to the sport we all love = most. =20 If you can be in the neighborhood do come here for the event. Mojave = will be closed to traffic but Cal City, Tehachapi and Rosemond are = close. Gen Fox Field and Lancaster also have rental cars and are not = much farther away. Bakersfield would be fine as a last choice due to = driving distance. At least one can eat there and find a very soft = pillow. I'll show you my IV-P too. Boy, is that special? It is still for sale.
