yes... everyone has an opinion, and its usually
extremely easy to get that opinion.. we can
see Wendell acted on some of that "free" advice
by what actually flew in N511WD. its also interesting
to note that some of the best ideas come from those
that don't offer advice freely, but must be asked
directly (even though the advice is "free" it might
cost more :-)

what's more as stake here is: Are YOU willing
to pay, via higher insurance rates, for the freedom
to EXPERIMENT?

this is getting kinda off topic, but I have
personal experience with a certified glass PFD
in a certified turbocharged 4 seat airplane (getting
anti ice equipment)

and just today a decision was made to de-certify
several AHRS inorder to get aiding code that
has been tied up in the certification process.

in both these cases, I can personally say
our government guns aren't increasing safety,
and I'm willing to *pay* for the freedom to do
what my research has reveled is the best.

but in this case the point is kinda mute as there
is only one person who can help anyone when
penetrating a TS, and it wasn't in his plan
this day. what's even sadder is I'm running
out of fingers for friends that took off and
never came back.
