I want to install the VM1000 RPM transducer on a IO-550 N.  There seems
to be some type of transducer already installed on the right magneto.
Can the VM1000 use that sensor or do I need to replace it with the one
that came with the kit?  Scott at Lancair says he removes it and
installs the VM1000 transducer, but it is very difficult to get to.  It
is installed in the bottom of the magneto where no wrench I know of
will fit.

What is involved in removing the magneto in order to change out the RPM
transducer?  Is is a trivial process?

Any ideas would be appreciated.  Any one been there, done that?
