Good eyesight and logic. The fin shown in the building phase was on
another airplane with an unusually large engine that never flew. The
PT 6 turbine version was flown without the fin originally and then
after about 3 hours the fin was added. Chronically the airplane in the
building phase was first and the turbine was the second installation.
We got good information by flying with and without. We had expected to
have some directional problems on the turbine and discovered that power
losses at high speed with the prop windmilling (unfeathered) could be
very exciting.
